May topic: Sustainable Leadership During Difficult Times: Power, Wellness & Intentional Community with Abha Thakkar
Abha Thakkar of Mosaic LLC will help us explore a structural analysis of our power and our wellness, along with the mindsets, practices and strategies that can support us in enhancing both. The question for leaders at this moment is not simply, "How do I carry this better?" but "Who else is holding this work and how do we build the power to do so together?"
About Abha:
Abha has spent the last 20+ years as a community organizer, nonprofit administrator, trainer and convener of systems-level work. She brings with her a unique combination of skills and experience, including grassroots leadership development, strategic advocacy, non-extractive public engagement, food systems resilience, community journalism, restorative justice, and nonprofit operations, including health culture-building and policy and process development. Abha specializes in facilitation and coaching for collective impact initiatives, nonprofits, public leaders and local government through a justice-oriented lens. Abha was born in India into a family of revolutionary leaders and community organizers who supported resistance efforts against the British Empire on two continents. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin, has a 15-year old daughter and has traveled to over 60 countries, doing work in many of them to support the social-emotional and educational needs of vulnerable children.
